The Event

The /O Sessions formed out of a few core beliefs:

Colorado is home to world-class musicians who form the backbone of the music scene.

Colorado deserves an event that celebrates its songcraft and musicianship—one that we could share with the world. 

With that in mind, a huge, collaborative undertaking and experiment took shape. For each /O Session, we:

  • Invite three songwriters to bring four new or unreleased songs for a live in-studio concert event. 

  • Wrangle world-class musicians to form the backing "house band."

  • Spend one evening and afternoon together to rehearse and dream up the arrangements for each song.

  • Eat a family meal together.

  • Present a 12-song concert to a live, in-studio audience of about 75 people 

  • Film the evening with talented, local filmmakers 

  • Record the songs with professional, high-quality studio equipment

This video release is the culmination of the four events that spanned the end of 2018 and into 2019. 

Besides the collaborative musical environment, we invited different photographers for each event and graphic designers for each volume poster. The collaborations extended to dozens of friends and family that worked behind the scenes.
